松山しげきは第一次大戦に使用されたダズル迷彩を使った肖像画によりインターネットの匿名性や情報の不確かさによる危険性を表現しました。
またfeebeeは人物の首に喰らいつく獣から人間が持つストレスや社会からの圧力、人間自身が持つ野生的な内面を表しています。
現代は利便性や経済的側面が追求され、ネット環境の高度な広がりやSNSの普及により世界中どこからでもコミュニケーションが取れる“ユビキタス”時代です。しかしその一方であらゆるところに様々な問題が潜んでいることを2人は自身が描く肖像画を通じて警鐘を鳴らしているのです。
イラストレーターやデザイナー時代の経験を経て今の表現方法に辿り着き、現代アーティストとして国内外で大きな注目を集める松山しげきとfeebee による初の二人展をご期待ください。
Gallery A8T is pleased to present Shigeki Matsuyama and feebee’s collaborative exhibition: Ubiquitous.
Shigeki Matsuyama incorporated dazzle camouflage in his portraits to represent the dangers of anonymity and uncertainty surrounding information on the Internet.
Feebee depicts the portraits of humans who are bitten on their necks by beasts. One may interpret these beasts to represent social pressure, stress, or a primitive wildness originally characterized by human beings.
Our contemporary society is one where people instantly communicate with each other from anywhere in the world using the internet and other social networking services. We live in times that could collectively be termed a “ubiquitous” age; where people are urged to pursue convenience and possess wealth at all costs. However, through their portraits, both these artists pose a warning for the perils that such an age would bring with it.
We are pleased to announce the hosting of first collaborative exhibition by Shigeki Matsuyama and feebee, two artists who have achieved their current expressions based on their experiences from working as an illustrator and a designer, respectively. Today, they attract much attention not only in Japan, but among several art enthusiasts overseas.

We also exhibit paintings by Yoko Naito, who depicts a moment of everyday life using her original printing technique. This exhibit may be viewed in the other gallery space on the first floor alongside the “Ubiquitous” exhibition.
